What to do on Roatan, diving or something else

There is a lot more to do on Roatan than diving alone. Change a lazy day on the beach to a day full of activities. Picturesque and quiet beaches are a short walk from Villagio Verde, or just a few minutes by taxi. But there is more, Ton and Zilla can point you to exclusive undiscovered places: The iguana farm, a trip by boat in the mangrove forest, swimming with the dolphins, a sun set cruise or a very good lunch at small restaurants in the Garifuna town Punta Gorda. They also know all the good restaurants for a great dinner at night.

Roatan’s fringing reef system offers the most spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling in the Western Caribbean. It has the second largest coral barrier reef in the world. Hundreds of different types of corals, sponges, fishes and marine species abound on the reef in idyllic crystal clear warm blue waters, making Roatan a world class prime diving destination as well as a photographer’s heaven. Never been diving before? No problem there are a lot of dive schools where you can do an introductory dive and see if it’s something for you.

It’s no problem at all if you are not scuba diving. You can still enjoy the reef. Ask Ton and Zilla to show you the most beautiful snorkeling spots on the island and where to rent the snorkel gear. Don’t want to go into the water? There is the option to see all the fish and coral on the glass bottom boat.
